Eliminate wasted practice time by picking up the pace of your practices!
Keith Dambrot shares the same practice drills he used while coaching Lebron James and winning back-to-back high school state championships. Now, after seven straight 20+ win seasons at Akron, Coach Dambrot conducts this on-court clinic to demonstrate his high tempo–get after it–practice drills.
Defensively, Coach Dambrot shows the drills he uses to start his practice that loosen up his team. These drills teach closing out, denying the wing, fronting the post, help-and-recover, and digging the post. He shows how to defend the down screen, flare screen, back screen and how to play the screener. And includes an interesting Circle Trap Drill that helps teach trapping and how to manage the trap in the same drill–saving you practice time.
Do you get frustrated when your players travel or miss a pull up? Dambrot shows a series of finishing moves that stress proper foot work and finishing at the basket. He shows footwork for layups with one dribble, pull up jumpers, floaters, lunges, and step-throughs. If you want your players to be able to do these skills a game, you have to practice them.
Coach Dambrot presents an exciting way to teach the game while focusing on the details needed to improve as a team and individually. This video is for coaches at just about any level, but could be very helpful for the player to understand what a coach is looking for in defensive and offensive fundamentals.
