Billy Donovan set the bar high at Florida. In his 19 years as the man in charge, Florida won 2 National Championships, 4 Final Fours, 4 SEC Tournament Championships, 6 SEC Regular Season Championships, and 3 SEC Coach of the Year. When he decided to leave Florida for the NBA and the Oklahoma City Thunder, he left big shoes to be filled. Florida would choose to fill those shoes with Mike White. White is a young (39 years old) basketball coach on the rise. In his first season at Florida, White matched a program record with 21 wins for a first-year head coach. The Gators also returned to the postseason since their trip to the National Championship game in 2013-14. Using the momentum from year 1, he has the Gators as a national force in college basketball. The Gators are again in the Top 25 with a 20-5 record and currently tied for 1st place in the SEC. Before Florida, White had an extremely successful stint, as the head coach at Louisiana Tech. Coach White was the 2014-15 Conference USA Coach of the Year, led the Bulldogs to a 101-40 record (.716) in 4 seasons, including three straight conference championships. White’s teams play a fun, high-energy, fast-paced system on both ends of the floor that allow his players to flourish. In this Mike White Florida Gators Playbook, you will 66 pages of half court sets vs. man and zone, sideline out of bounds, baseline out of bounds, late game situations, press breaks, and press defense utilized by one of the hottest coaches and teams in the country.
